These rosaries are perfect for your kids that are getting closer to using a traditional gemstone rosary, but are not quite there yet. The Shepherd Kid Rosaries are great because they feature some of those great qualities from our silicone rosaries like durability and soft texture. They also have that great feature of being quiet if dropped. One of our favorite features! How they’re different from our silicone rosaries is that they have smaller beads and have more the look of a traditional rosary.
Not suitable as a chewable toy for children ages 4+
Blessed Carlo Acutis was born May 3rd, 1991 making him the first millennial soon to be saint! His parents were not very devout but after Carlo received his first communion he became a frequent communicant and prayed often before the Tabernacle. He took St. Francis of Assisi, Saint Bernadette, Sts. Jacinta and Francisco, and St. Dominic Savio as role models. He tried to comfort his friends who were enduring divorces and help stand up for others who were being bullied. After school he would volunteer to help the homeless. He enjoyed soccer, films, comics, and playing video games.
At the age of 15 he was diagnosed with Leukemia. Carlo offered his suffering to God, for the Pope and the whole Church. When a doctor asked him about the pain, he said: “ There are people who suffer much more than me!” In his final months Carlo decided to make a website that catalogued all 136 Eucharistic Miracles. It was a long time dream of his to visit the sites of the miracles but unfortunately the illness did not allow for that. Carlo died in 2006 and was beatified in 2020 by Pope Francis. As he had wished, Carlo was buried in Assisi at St. Mary Major’s “Chapel of the Stripping”. It is there that Francis had returned his clothes to his father and began a more radical following of the Gospel. Blessed Carlo shows us that love for the Eucharist and a life for God will now and always be a path towards holiness, he says “ To always be close to Jesus, that’s my life plan.” His feast day is October 12th.
