We don’t know much about Mary Magdalene, beyond that she was freed by Jesus from seven demons, and she served Jesus faithfully. She was present at the foot of the cross, and was the first person to whom the resurrected Jesus revealed himself. Mary Magdalene is beloved as an “every-woman” who, like all of us, was a sinner. For sharing the joyful news of the Resurrection, she became known as the “apostle to the apostles.”
